Calabria is a region in southern Italy. It is a peninsula bordered by Basilicata, the Ionian Sea, the Strait of Messina, which separates it from Sicily, and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Calabria has 2 million residents on 15,222 sq km (5,877 sq mi). Catanzaro is the region's capital, while Reggio Calabria is the most populous city in the region.
