About
Welcome to The World's Food, where the cuisine of every country in the world is celebrated.
If all the world’s grandmothers got together and created a cookbook, it would look something like this. Think of it as one-half culinary encyclopedia and one-half global cookbook.
The World’s Food may very well be the world's most exhaustive single resource for local foods and recipes. With more than 25,000 unique dishes, drinks and desserts, and more than 200,000 hand-curated recipes from around the world, there is plenty here to discover. There are also regional specialties like cheese, wine, coffees, cocktails, sauces, spice mixes, bread, charcuterie and internationally protected foods.
As for me, I have always had a passion for food. In fact, I planned to be a chef long before becoming a scientist. But the foodie in me never left and that's what inspired me to create this ridiculous project. It started simply, to find a few of the most popular regional dishes around the world. But that soon morphed into a five-year effort to document every cuisine from every country in the world.
So, if you're curious about what people around the world eat, if you love trying local food and delicacies while traveling, if you want to expand your culinary experiences, then The World’s Food is perfect for you.
Take a look around and see if there is something that piques your interest, and be sure to sign up and save all your favorites. I hope your curiosity rewards you with something delicious!
God bless,
Rob
