Norwegian akevitt, also known as aquavit, is a distilled spirit made primarily from potatoes and flavored with herbs and spices, with caraway being the dominant flavor. It is traditionally enjoyed during celebrations and meals, particularly during Christmas and May 17th (Norwegian Constitution Day), and is often aged in oak casks, giving it a distinctive golden color and rich flavor.
