Homemade spiced Thai iced tea flavored with star anise, cinnamon, vanilla bean, cardamom, black tea, condensed milk and evaporated milk.

Ingredients

6   bags black tea
2   star anise
1   Tablespoon whole cardamom
1   cinnamon stick
1   vanilla bean, cut along its length and opened up
2   teaspoons turmeric powder
2   Tablespoons sugar
2 1/2   cups water
1/2   cup sweetened condensed milk
1/4   cup evaporated milk
10-20   ice cubes

Preparation

Step 1
Add tea, star anise, cardamom, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, turmeric, sugar and water to a medium-sized pot

Step 2
Stir gently and heat over medium heat until it begins to simmer

Step 3
Gently simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally 

Step 4
Cover the pot, remove from heat and rest at room temperature 30 minutes

Step 5
Pour tea through a strainer into a large measuring cup to remove the whole spices

Step 6
Mix condensed milk and evaporated milk together in a measuring cup

Step 7
Pour tea over ice into two glasses, then top with the milk mixture
