Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark - The World's Food

Time: 2 hours
Sweet, salty, crunchy, chocolatey bark. Very similar to Christmas crack but with pretzels.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter1 cup brown sugar
4 cups mini pretzels
3 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt or kosher salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 F
Step 2
Line a cookie sheet with foil, spray foil with a thin layer of cooking spray, and cover with a single layer of pretzels
Step 3
Add butter and brown sugar to a small pan and bring to a gentle boil over medium-low heat, stirring as needed to dissolve brown sugar in melted butter
Step 4
Simmer this mixture for 2-5 minutes until it has thickened slightly, stirring the entire time
Step 5
When caramel mixture has reached the desired thickness, pour it over the pretzels
Step 6
Bake in the 400 F oven 7 minutes
Step 7
Remove cookie sheet from oven and spread chocolate chips evenly over the top
Step 8
Return cookie sheet to 400 F oven and bake 1 more minute to warm chocolate chips
Step 9
Remove cookie sheet from oven and spread chocolate evenly using a spatula
Step 10
Sprinkle salt over the chocolate according to taste
Step 11
Refrigerate 1-2 hours, then break into large pieces using your fingers
