Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuits - The World's Food

This breakfast biscuit is so good you'll think you're having breakfast at the Golden Arches. Thick-cut bacon, scrambled egg and American cheese on delicious buttermilk biscuits.
Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup butter (2 sticks), grated (use a cheese grater) and chilled
2 cups buttermilk
1 egg, scrambled
1/2 pound thick-cut bacon, fried or oven-baked
1 slice American cheese, per biscuit
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
Step 2
Mix flour, salt, baking soda, cream of tartar and baking powder
Step 3
Mix in buttermilk, adjust with a little buttermilk if too dry
Step 4
Cut butter into flour mixture. Do not overmix
Step 5
On a floured surface, roll dough until 1 inch thick
Step 6
Cut dough into round biscuits and place on an ungreased baking sheet
Step 7
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until tops are golden
Step 8
While biscuits are in the oven, cook bacon and fry scrambled egg in a frying pan with butter
Step 9
Assemble ingredients on biscuit
