Time: 1 hour

Crumbl copycat sugar cookies topped with delicious pumpkin spice frosting

Ingredients

1     cup salted butter
1     cup granulated sugar
2     eggs
1 1/2     teaspoons vanilla extract
3     cups all-purpose flour
2     teaspoons baking powder
1/2     cup salted butter, softened
3     cups powdered sugar
1     teaspoon vanilla extract
1 to 2     Tablespoons milk
1 1/2     teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4     teaspoon ground ginger
3/4     teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2     teaspoon ground allspice
1/2     teaspoon ground cloves

Preparation

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F

Step 2
Start with the cookie dough by creaming together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy

Step 3
Scrape the sides and add the eggs and vanilla extract, then blend thoroughly

Step 4
Scrape the sides again and slowly add the all-purpose flour, followed by the baking powder

Step 5
Blend until thoroughly combined

Step 6
For each cookie, scoop ¼ cup of dough onto a baking mat or sheet

Step 7
Six cookies per batch is the limit

Step 8
Flatten the cookie dough using the bottom of a measuring cup or glass sprayed with some cooking spray to prevent sticking.  You can use a twisting motion while lifting up, and re-spray as needed

Step 9
Bake at 350 F for 9-11 minutes.  The centers of the cookies should no longer have a glossy sheen to them

Step 10
Cool cookies completely at room temperature before topping with frosting

Step 11
Make the frosting by first blending the butter until smooth

Step 12
Slowly add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract and just enough milk until the frosting has a smooth, spreadable consistency

Step 13
Add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cloves.  Blend thoroughly

Step 14
Add a generous amount of frosting to each cookie and spread decoratively
